ClassPort is an application prototype with a searchable database of fitness classes, studios and gyms. It will show user-generated ratings and reviews of studios, instructors and classes. The primary goal of the application is to provide detailed information to the user so that he/she can make an educated decision to purchase and attend a class. Another goal of the app is to provide businesses with a platform to advertise their offered fitness classes by using deals to attract customers. ClassPort is a resource for users to find the fitness class that suits their wants and requirements.

Goals
1. To provide users with better access and knowledge of various gym classes in a location/city
2. To provide ratings of instructors, classes, and facilities to the public
3. To promote a healthy lifestyle that is convenient for the user’s schedule
Research + Findings
From the focus groups, I learned that males in addition to females are interested in using the application. Ages range from mid-20s to early-40s. Users are visitors from different cities, new to cities or locals. Users range from those who currently have a gym routine to those who want to get to the gym more or want to try something new. They typically work out alone and with others.
Class type, instructor, cost, ratings, location of class, time, availability (how many open spots left), map, commuting time, and special offers were all features that users want to be able to filter by or search for.
Ratings are wanted so users know which classes are more valuable for the cost through their own research. Users want the ability to see the availability of a specific class so that he/she can invite others/friends to join. Two factors that will motivate users to use the application are: deals; ability to use the app with friends. Deals would entail “buying 5 classes and getting the 6th for free” or “20% off a class at 1pm.”
Competitive and Experience Audits + Insights
I conducted research on three competitors in the market and analyzed the results to create features in the ClassPort app that were aligned with the goals.
